This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclosure, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use the Neybo mobile application (the "App"). 1. Information We Collect

We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or device.

A. Personal Data

When you register for Neybo, we collect:

  • Identity Data: Full Name, Email Address, and Profile Picture.

  • Verification Data: To obtain a "Verified Neighbor" badge, you may voluntarily provide government-issued identification (ID) images (Front and Back). These images are used strictly for verification purposes to ensure community safety.

  • User Content: Information included in the listings you post (titles, descriptions, photos of items/services, prices) and the reviews you write.

B. Location Data

We request access to your device's geolocation to:

  • Show you items and services listed near you.

  • Allow you to filter listings by distance radius.

  • Suggest "Safe Trade Zones" (Police Stations, Libraries) for meetups.

  • Note: Your precise location is never shared publicly on the map. Items are displayed with approximate locations or designated meeting points.

C. Financial Data

We do not store your credit card or bank account information on our servers. All payments for subscriptions ("Neybo Pro") or boosted listings are processed securely through Apple StoreKit (In-App Purchases).

D. Communications

We store messages and images sent between users in our in-app Chat system to facilitate transactions and for content moderation purposes (e.g., investigating reports of scams or harassment).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account.

  • Facilitate the buying, selling, and hiring process between users.

  • Verify user identities to maintain a safe environment.

  • Send you push notifications regarding messages, offers, and app updates.

  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.

  • Monitor and prevent fraudulent activity, scams, and abuse.

  • Improve the efficiency and operation of the App.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations. Your information may be disclosed as follows:

  • Other Users: When you interact with other users (e.g., posting a listing, sending a message), they can see your name, profile photo, public bio, reviews, and the items you are selling.

  • Service Providers: We use Google Firebase (Firestore, Storage, Authentication) to host our database, authenticate users, and store images securely.

  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

Deleting Your Account: You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can do this directly within the App:

  1. Go to Profile > Settings.

  2. Scroll to the "Danger Zone".

  3. Tap Delete Account.

  4. Confirm the action.

Upon confirmation, your user profile, listings, images, and chat history will be permanently removed from our database.

5. Security of Your Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. We utilize industry-standard encryption (via Firebase and iOS frameworks) to protect data in transit and at rest. However, please be aware that no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

6. Children's Privacy

Neybo is intended for users who are at least 17 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will verify and delete that information as quickly as possible.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date of this policy. You are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed of updates.
